Coaching is love made visible. And if you cannot coach with love, it is better that you sit in the stands and watch those who coach with love.                                                                                                                                                      --- Adapted from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran

Clipboard Notes - Chapter 2

Winning: Winning is not worthwhile unless there is a real possibility of Losing.

Self-Fulfillment: Good coaches expect us to do our best – and we respond in kind.

Basic Perception: Good coaches are interested in us as people, not just as players.

Leadership: A Coach leads – that’s what she does.

Kahlil Gibran

Kahlil Gibran is the author of The Prophet. In another section of his book, the Prophet is asked to speak of Teaching and he replies, “If he (the Teacher) is indeed wise he does not bid you enter the house of his wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind.”

In our book and blogs, we also refer you to Carl Rogers and his Person-Centered Psychotherapy and to our Caching philosophy, Player-Centered Coaching.
