The Wolf and the Pack

Now this is the Law of the Jungle;

as old and as true as the sky.

And the Wolf that shall keep it may prosper;

but the Wolf that shall break it must die.

As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk;

the Law runneth forward and back.

For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf;

and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

Second Jungle Book,

– Rudyard Kipling

Comments on the Clipboard Notes

Title IX:  We simply have to be amazed at the increased amount of playing by women and the quality of that playing has improved since 1972.

Expectancy: The Team: Interaction between teammates - flowing and creating the game together. The performance of the team becomes a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy.

Culture: Culture is the combined lived behaviors of everyone.  Culture is alive and organic.  It’s the way we do things around here.

Cooperation: We must first have cooperation among all elements of our team - then we’ll be able to    compete at a much higher level against our opponents. The more direct name for this is Teamwork.

John Wooden, the fantastic coach of the UCLA teams that won so many NCAA titles never talked to his players about beating their opponents. He demanded that they work together as a team and that each of them was to become a better player today then he was yesterday. Winning, regardless of the score, is the result of this cooperative endeavor.

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you don’t care who gets the credit.

– Harry S. Truman
